"My Insight On Drug War Facts"

According to all the drug facts that I am presented with to analyze it appears that all prisoners appear to be racially targeted in a sense that these facts are centralized according to race and ethnicity. Then there is the additional use of alcohol being mentioned to be a major factor for about half of the prisoners that have committed murders. Being that this sense, alcohol is frowned upon and pointed at for being an asset in the crimes committed which revolves around the “Blacks” and the “Hispanics”, but no effort is done to reprimand it. Then there are the likely outcome percentages of which race or ethnicity goes to jail and in this case its majority of the time the “Blacks” and “Hispanics”, while the “Whites” are less likely to go to jail. However, majority of illicit drug users are White being a disgusting estimate of about of 9.9 million whites as opposed to a very small percentage of Blacks and Hispanics. In this sense I guess you can say that majority of actual physical crimes committed are surfaced around Blacks and Hispanics while the majority of drug crimes as well as users are committed by Whites. Therefore being of these statistics, crime is racially measured by years of accumulative repetitive crimes committed by all these specific race/ethnicities.

This data is significant is the sense that it accurately sets marks of those that commit crimes. All this data shows you a wide range of the racial crime stereotypes committed in America being that majority of all prisoners worldwide are in America. With that knowledge, you are presented with an insight to the crimes that are committed as well as the regional statistics in which the crimes are committed and those racial or ethnic groups that are most likely to commit them. Sadly, it is a form of racial ideology for categorizing ethnic groups according to the type of crimes they will be most likely to commit.

All of this data holds many connections with issues in our political system being that it is a political way of keeping a distinction between all social classes in ethnic ways that tie to or even revolve around the criminal system. Being that it is connected to many issues, but preferably a racial issue, the means of it are all within the range as being absurd because many would still have faith in their ignorance that America is a color-blind society and that racism doesn’t exist anymore. Luckily the smart people or even the semi-political people who don’t have a mind that is capped off in a box know that it is a racial factor that has been passed down discretely in a way that the government can still host racism and in “professional” way. However, due to the poverty and oppression on these racial classes in many targeted regions of America, as well as the stereotypical crime rates, this all is a form of strategy in which politicians use to obtain that “win” in many candidacies as well as passing laws. Overall in my strong opinion, that I’m pretty sure many of you can agree on is that the hand that works the strings of this strategy are those at the top, being the politicians and those with tremendous wealth who control this country in substantial methods of keeping the power within their mindset of white superiority.

"CGG" Passage Connections

The passages I’m writing about are from a book written by Ying Ma that is called “Chinese Girl In The Ghetto”. These scenes were assigned to me in the sense of paraphrasing these 3 different scenes and creating somewhat obvious connections between them. All in the sense of using them for future writing assignments as well as further classwork notes.

As I read all three passages, I notice that Ying Ma establishes a hatred that is specifically directed at everyone other than her ethnic kind, although this hatred swings back and forth to her ethnic people as well in certain situations. Let’s keep in mind that she lives in “the ghetto” as said in the title. However, the hatred is there but you only see it when it is provokingly brought out by negative issue’s that she encounters and experiences. For example she experiences a mediocre form of theft in which a significant pencil of hers is stolen by three kids in her class. She states that she could’ve seized it back by force being that she appeared to be bigger than them but she had never beaten anyone to get what she wanted. In this case, back home she didn’t have to worry about any issue related to this one so the urge to confront them didn’t exist. However, when she told the teacher about this the teacher didn’t really do anything because when the kids were confronted they lied and said they didn’t take anything, so the teacher just gave her another pencil. That is one scene in which her hatred developed uncontrollably.

Now to relate them in being connected with each other. All three passages are basically “conflict based” scenes in which develops over time. The first two are a result to how her significant pencil that she brought from China was stolen which lead to her hatred for the three kids in specific aspects, like toward their parents, their poverty, etc. Then the last scene is a conflict in which Hispanic kids destroyed her parent’s garden and she gets so frustrated that she confronts the Hispanic mother about it. She then views and understands the struggle that this lady is going through as well, but however that doesn’t shun her hatred just yet because she said “ On days like that one, I felt the absurdity of the need to fight against other immigrants like her”, (Ying Ma 127). In this sense she develops a sense of rebellion and hatred against the immigrants that she criticizes constantly disregarding the stupidity of how it all sounds to fight against them. Therefore I see that as a main connection between these passages, and also the sense of her back-home safety being a norm to not fight the boys for her pencil. All of these issues close in on a few views that she hates the life of living in the ghetto, which can be a result of her persistent pride and integrity that her parents work so hard and have to put up with this life rather than being rewarded a better life. In my point of view these are my views of the connections between these scenes and how they all similar interact with each other.

"My Reactions to Ying Ma's Facebook Page"

Reading Ying Ma’s facebook page and reading most of her stated issues, I can clearly say they are ALL political. However, I like her take and criticism on these issues because they are very true and expository of the issues she addresses. For example, an overflowing handful of her addressed issues are mainly about immigration and how illegal immigrants are hurting legal immigrants financially. She states the issue of how tax payer’s money is supporting the welfare system, which I find highly true to the “T”, however it has a lot of tension dwelling with in it. Although, it doesn’t stop me from sharing this similar issue with her because it’s the truth. A lot of tax payer’s money funds things that they don’t get to benefit from. For example, the welfare system, which doesn’t benefit most tax payers at all while it’s only helping those who chose to live lazy lifestyles keep on living these lazy lifestyles. Another example is the wars that are funded by tax payers as well. What do we benefit from that? Nothing at all, except the denoted feeling of being safe, but then again are we really safe when our government is taking money from us that we work oh so hard to accumulate. If you ask me that’s endangering my financial welfare. I’ve also noticed she’s a critic of Obama in the sense that his ways in handling his presidency are very controlled and unprofessional. Kind of like it’s out of his control. But although I said it sounds like she has a problem with all of these issues, it’s not a problem, it is more like criticism. However in times like today if you criticize something or someone then you are judged to be against them. Therefore making it sound like our freedom of speech and expression are now to be suppressed. That’s America for you.

Handling College Responsibility and Stress

Hello my fellow LAGCC colleagues, I’d like to address an insight on how my academic life interacts with my personal life. Notice that I said that with confidence, but don’t let that fool you because there’s more to it. In between these “interactions” a lot goes down to the point where it becomes a routine if you don’t control it. I’m also sure that you all as well undergo very similar actions that complicate both of these lives. However, there are ways to possibly manage or at least be responsible towards these lives. Mind you that I say all of this through personal experiences as well as a few that aren't settled yet.

Ways in which you can be responsible as a student are very assuring as well as irritating. I say irritating because they become somewhat annoying and stressful. However, all these ways in which are irritating are as well very assuring in the sense that you’ll have that feeling of accomplishment and success knowing that you’re on top of your academic life as well as your personal life. First off your academic life should be carefully and strictly monitored. As a conflict, or your personal life will complicate your academic life. However that’s on you to make sure that they both interact well with each other and that your success isn’t jaded by your own lack of responsibility and I know this first hand because I let the stresses of my personal life control my academic life at one point. The responsibilities in which a student should have is a strong dedication that is backed by the direct reason to succeed in school. The future thoughts of what you want to achieve in life should be your fuel for your daily tasks. Keep in mind that failure is not acceptable to yourself, because once you accept the fact of failing that is when your dedication becomes weakened and possibly lost. Yes I know your personal life probably complicates all of this but it’s up to you to make it not complicate it and structure it in ways that you can timely manage every day. As far as the stress goes, you can stop all that from accumulating or even happening as long as you stay on top of your work. If that means inputting it to very personal times then do so. For example, however this may sound boring or pointless, if you have a novel that you should be reading then take it out with you wherever you go or at least most of the places you go. Why you ask? Well the fact that you most likely will have intervals of 10-15 minutes where you’re free and in that case you can easily knock out a decent amount of pages. However, that’s just one example out of hundreds. The point of this is that it is you that controls your academic life, even when your personal life intervenes with it. You just need to find common grounds in ways you can work around your stress whether it is because of your personal life or academic life.

Now for the stress part within the academic life which is what tends to weaken our dedication and motivation and I say this with a strong voice because it’s a case I undergo from time to time. If you feel like you don’t understand the criteria or it is complicated, there are many ways to simply it all. First off you have classmates, then your professors, then you have student services, oh and let’s not forget student organized study sessions! Also I find that going somewhere that you feel comfortable but not to comfortable in the sense you'll be lazy but at least have a motivational atmosphere that will fuel you in getting work done. Very insightful right but however a lot of you probably don’t like to ask for help, so the best thing I can tell you is to drop that pride and realize the bigger picture here. It’s either your future or your present pride, so think very hard and make the right decision, please.

Reformation of the Racial State

In this blog I will shed light and details of the racial state in which minorities lived in and the actions that were taken to oppose racism and better the life of the minority people as well as some negative tension within their community. In the 1950’s and 1960’s the racial state was very circumstantial and cruel as to the means of life for the “minority” people. Some of these circumstances that they had to live in were all forms of segregation as well as discrimination. This was throughout the education system, public surroundings, the political system, and so on so forth. All forms of these were antagonisms in which penetrated their entire society down to the core.

Now I will explain to you the ways in which this “racial state” of living was reformed. In this time period there were many social movements as well as leaders within these movements which constantly encouraged the motives behind it all. A few were Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr, and a few more. As a direct action of these movements there were two phases in which these social parties acted on to better the life for minorities. Phase one was a motive of direct action for civil rights. It helped situate the black people and other minorities of that time in a way in which they were forcefully accepted into society. This phase did so in the initiative of hiring many black activist and placing them in state institutions rather than having them out stuck in poverty. The second phase of this direct action was to reform and develop racial practices. The initiative behind it was to protect the civil rights of the people from racist local and state agencies by forcing the government to defend them. They did so by finding loop holes throughout racial contradictions. However, as a result of all this good that was done a sort of “caste system” was developed amongst the people therefore resulting in class division. I guess you can compare it or relate it to India’s caste system. This all sparked controversy within the minority community while those on the bottom end of this were kept locked within poverty.

As a result of all this information I possibly see myself relating or even inputting this piece of writing in my paper. Reason for being so is because of the relation it has to the caste system in India although the previous means in which it started in this minority community were of good intentions. Also being that this is all connected with the topic of racial reformation.
